Do not take ROWASA® (mesalamine) Rectal Suspension Enema if you are allergic to ROWASA® or any of its ingredients.

ROWASA® Rectal Suspension Enema contains potassium metabisulfite, which may rarely cause allergic reactions in some people.  If you have problems breathing after administering ROWASA®, please contact your doctor.

Please let your doctor know if you are allergic to sulfasalazine or if you experience cramping, abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, fever, headache, or a rash after using ROWASA® Rectal Suspension Enema.

Adverse reactions may include stomach cramps, headache, gas, stomach ache, flu, tiredness, fever, and rash.
